Artwork & design help

What type of files do you recommend?

We prefer your artwork in PDF form, but also accept JPEG, PNG and TIFF files. Microsoft Word however, is not a print ready format and is not accepted, although modern versions can save files as a PDF. If you’re stuck and require more information regarding file formats, please Contact us and we will do our best to assist.


Using my own design and images

If you’re unsure about where to start when ordering your print, Contact us and we will do our best to assist, in the meantime here are five easy steps to keep in mind.


1. Quality: Make sure your image or photo is high quality, this means a minimum of 200dpi; although we recommend at least 300dpi for a defined final print.

2. Colour: Make sure your image is set to CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black).

3. Bleed: Allow space for the bleed to ensure your final document will not have unprinted borders.

4. Format: We prefer JPEG, but can also accept PNG, PDF and TIFF files.

5. Fonts: For JPEG and PNG files, fonts are embedded into your submitted design. For PDF & TIFF files, ensure that your fonts are either outlined or embedded to the file.


What is the maximum file size?

Our maximum file size upload is 100MB.


What are trim marks?

Trim marks or ‘trim lines’ help indicate where the product will be cut to its finished size.


What is bleed?

The bleed is the area between trim marks and the rest of the paper or material. Ideally with a minimum of 3mm, this area should have extended colour or design from your artwork. This will avoid white edges when your materials are being cut to size.


What is safe margin?

The safe margin is the space between the text or graphics in your design and the trim mark. Ensure that you do not add relevant, or important information/images in this area as they will be at risk of being trimmed when your materials are cut to size.


Do you provide template guides?

We do provide blank template guides, so you can download in AI, ID and PDF to work on your design offline. They are correctly sized and will have safe margin, trim marks and bleed area marked.


RGB or CMYK?

We print in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black). If your designs are vibrant and colourful, ensure your colour is set to this, as RGB and Pantone uploads will be automatically converted which could slightly affect the final print. If you’re stuck and require more information regarding colour set modes, please Contact us and we will do our best to assist.


Why are my images pixelated?

To ensure your artwork is printed to the highest quality finish, your images should be between between 150 and 300dpi (dots per inch).


Will anyone check my artwork?

With over 30 years’ experience in the printing industry, we are proud to be backed by a skilled and knowledgeable team who strive to overcome any challenge and assist in any way we can. We will check that your bleed is correct, colours are converted to CMYK and that your artwork is set to the correct size. If we notice anything is amiss, we will be in touch to help.


Can I use any font, language, special characters or Emoji?

You can use any fonts, characters or languages you like as long as the artwork you supply has the fonts embedded or converted to outlines, If you’re stuck and require more information, please Contact us and we will do our best to assist.

Your Account

What’s the benefit of having a Print.London account?

We recommend creating an account to make your ordering process with us as quick and convenient as possible. You can take advantage of a range of features, including:


Permanent Cart - Items added to your online cart will remain there until you remove them, or checkout.

Address Book - For a faster checkout process.

Order History - View your order history in one place.

Reorder - Use the reorder button for the same items again, or change the artwork by editing in your basket before resubmitting.


How do I set up a Print.London account?

Setting up an account is simple, and can be done at any time. Just click the icon at the right top corner of our site and select register. Add email address, address (which will be stored for delivery) and a password. You can then either create your account before shopping or when you’re ready to check out.


I’ve forgotten my password

We’ve all been there… don’t panic. Just hit the password reset link at your login page and you will receive a reset email in no time.


Can I delete my account?

We don’t recommend deleting your account as you will permanently lose your order history with us. You can, however deactivate your account with us at any time. Contact us and we can help you with that.

Ordering

Can I cancel my order?

Your order can only be cancelled before it gets to our press, so please Contact us as soon as possible with your details and order number and we will do our best to assist.


Can I change my order?

Unfortunately it is not possible to amend orders once placed. Nonetheless, feel free to Contact us to help us understand your situation and see how we can assist.


Can I update my billing address?

You can update your information during the checkout process. Should you need any help, please Contact us directly with your account details.


Can I reorder a previous project?

Coming back for more? We don’t blame you. Reordering a previous project is easy. Simply login to your account, go to your order history and hit ‘reorder’.


VAT charges

The prices you see across the website and on the product pages are exclusive of VAT. When you proceed to the basket, we will add VAT to selected products, as per government regulations. For example, business cards, letterheads and posters are subject to VAT, while, in most cases, booklets are exempt. For more information, you can visit the government website. Please note that, the content being printed also determines if VAT is chargeable. In this case, we will check the artwork you submit while we process your order and if we think the incorrect VAT category has been applied, we will contact you directly to rectify it.


VAT receipts

Once your order is placed, you will receive an email confirmation which will display the amount you have paid on VAT.


What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept all major debit and credit cards.


How do I make a complaint?

We aim to please, but should we not have reached the level of service you were expecting, please Contact us with your details and/or order number and we will do everything we can to assist.

Delivery

How much is delivery?

The delivery cost varies depending on the products and quantities you select, as well as the delivery method you choose. You will be able to see the total during checkout and before completing your purchase.


Can I track my order?

If you are collecting your order, we will email to let you know when it will be ready to be picked up – just pop by our office whenever is convenient, Monday to Friday, 9-6 (excluding bank holidays). If you choose London Direct delivery, we will send an email to let you know your order has been passed to our London courier partner – they will be in touch directly to share your tracking information and estimated delivery time. For Regular Delivery, your shipping confirmation email will also contain tracking information, so you can check your orders whereabouts online.


When will my order arrive?

Delivery ETA will vary depending on the production priority and delivery method you have chosen. For orders with multiple products, the approximate delivery timeline in your basket will display the dates when your whole order will be completed. Please see the following FAQ’s or for more information, see our Delivery page.


Production priority

Before you select which delivery method you would prefer, let us know how urgently you would like your order printed by choosing between two different production priority services; Standard Production or Express Production.


Standard Production – Not in a rush? Standard Production is free and orders are added to our print queue then actioned in turn.

Express Production - If you’re in a hurry, Express Production orders will be moved to the front of our print queue, for faster despatch.


*Express Production will incur an additional cost calculated by product and quantity. Price will be visible automatically when each service is selected on the product page.


Click & Collect

Conveniently, we’re a just a short five minute walk from Angel Islington underground station and we warmly welcome you to our HQ. You can come by anytime Monday to Friday, 9-6 (excluding bank holidays). Alternatively, have your own preferred courier collect from us too. London Direct

We’ve teamed up with London courier company, Gophr, to provide a fast direct delivery service, ideal for those in a hurry in the big smoke. If you select London Direct delivery during checkout, your order will be delivered to you the same day it’s ready to leave our Islington HQ. You will be contacted by the courier service directly with tracking details and ETA once your order has been collected.

Regular Delivery

If you’re not in a hurry, choose our Regular Delivery service. Available for all UK mainland addresses, your order will be collected by the courier the same day it’s ready to leave our HQ and delivered to you the next working day. You will be contacted by the courier service directly with tracking details and ETA.


*Remote postcodes may incur an additional lead time.


What happens if I miss my delivery slot?

For Click & Collect orders, our HQ collection point is open Monday to Friday, 9-5 (excluding bank holidays), so if you’re running short of time, you can just pop in the following day. For London Direct and Regular Delivery orders, you can contact the courier service directly by quoting your tracking details for next steps.


Can I change my delivery option?

If you would like to change your chosen delivery option, please get in touch via our live chat service or Contact us with your order number and we will do our best to assist.


Can I change my delivery address?

If you would like to change your chosen shipping address, please get in touch via our live chat service or Contact us with your order number and we will do our best to assist.


Where do you deliver?

Our mission is to provide only the highest quality print for the capital and aim to deliver across London, however we can also deliver across and the UK and can arrange overseas delivery upon request. For more information, see our Delivery page .


Do you deliver internationally?

Although London is our home, we can arrange international delivery. Contact us with your order requirements and any additional details and we will be in touch.


How will my order arrive?

Your order will be packed in boxes or cartons suitable to the product dimensions, quantity ordered and shipping method selected.


My order hasn’t arrived, what should I do?

You can either contact the couriers directly or get in touch with us via our live chat service or Contact us with your order number and we will do our best to assist.


I have received an incorrect item, what should I do?

In the unlikely event that you receive an incorrect item, please get in touch via our live chat service or Contact us with your order number and description of what you have received and we will do our best to assist.


My order has arrived with a mistake, what should I do?

In the unlikely event that you receive an item with a mistake on our behalf, please get in touch via our live chat service or Contact us with your order number and description of the fault and we will do our best to assist.

How will my sample pack arrive?

Our free Sample Pack is available for UK customers only, and will be delivered by one of our courier partners. (Free UK delivery for all sample packs, limited to one per customer)


Do you deliver over the weekend?

Although our standard despatch and deliveries are weekdays only (excluding bank holidays), Saturday deliveries can be arranged. Get in via our live chat service or Contact us before placing your order and we can assist on how to proceed with your purchase.

Business Cards

How many paper options?

Our Business cards are available with five paper stocks; silk coated, gloss coated, deluxe uncoated, recycled uncoated and regular uncoated. Unsure which to go for? We recommend one of our pre-selected Regular, Green and Deluxe Top Picks.


Any other choices?

Our business cards can be printed single or double-sided, in portrait or landscape orientation with square or round edges (corners). All cards are cut to 85 x 55mm with a range of different paper weights and lamination options to choose from.

Compliment slips

How many paper options?

Our Compliment slips are available in three paper options, regular, recycled and deluxe; all uncoated so you can easily handwrite over them. Unsure which to go for? We recommend one of our pre-selected Regular, Green and Deluxe Top Picks.


Any other choices?

Our compliment slips can be printed single or double-sided, in portrait or landscape. All slips are cut to 99 x 210mm (DL) with a range of different paper weights to choose from.

Letterheads

How many paper options?

We have created three pre-selected Top Picks; Regular, Green and Deluxe as our recommended Letterhead option. However, you can create your own combination by choosing from three paper options, all uncoated for office/home printing convenience, and a variety of weight alternatives.


Any other choices?

Our letterheads can be printed single or double-sided, in portrait or landscape. All are cut to 210 x 297mm (A4) with a range of different paper weights to choose from.

Greeting Cards

How many paper options?

Our Greeting cards are available with three paper stocks; regular uncoated, recycled uncoated and deluxe uncoated. Unsure which to go for? We recommend one our pre-selected Regular, Green (recycled) and Deluxe Top Picks.


Any other choices?

Our single fold greeting cards can be printed single or double-sided, in portrait or landscape. A peel and seal 120gsm envelope is also included. Choose a final size between 105 x 148mm (A6), 148 x 210mm (A5) or 148mm square, with a range of different paper weights to choose from.

Flyers

How many paper options?

Our Flyers are available with five paper stocks; silk coated, gloss coated, regular uncoated, recycled uncoated and deluxe uncoated. Unsure which to go for? We combined our recommendation into three different Top Picks; Regular, Green (recycled) and Deluxe.


Any other choices?

Our flyers can be printed single or double-sided, in portrait or landscape. Choose between 210 x 297mm (A4), 105 x 148mm (A6), 148 x 210mm (A5) or 210 x 99mm (DL), with a range of different paper weights and lamination options to choose from.

Folded leaflets

How many paper options?

Our Leaflets are available with five paper stocks; silk coated, gloss coated, regular uncoated, recycled uncoated and deluxe uncoated. Unsure which to go for? We created three Top Picks; Regular, Green (recycled) and Deluxe, which showcase our recommended combinations. With that said, you’re free to change any specification to your preference.


Any other choices?

Our leaflets can be printed in portrait or landscape, with a choice of half fold, roll fold or Z fold. Choose between 105 x 148mm (A6), 148 x 210mm (A5), 210 x 99mm (DL) or 210 x 297mm (A4), with a range of different paper weights and lamination options to choose from.

Posters

How many paper options?

The paper options depend on the size you select for your Poster. For posters that are A2, A3 and A4, you can select between silk coated, gloss coated, regular uncoated and recycled uncoated. If your preferred poster size is A0 or A1, then satin coated, regular uncoated and blue back are the options available. Unsure on what to choose? We created three pre-selected Top Picks to help you speed through the ordering process.


Any other choices?

Our posters can be printed single or double-sided, in portrait or landscape. Choose between 210 x 297mm (A4), 297 x 420mm (A3), 420 x 594mm (A2), 594 x 841mm (A1) or 841 x 1189mm (A0) with a range of different finishes to choose from.

Document Folders

How many paper options?

Our Document folders are available with four paper stocks; silk coated, gloss coated, regular uncoated and recycled uncoated. Unsure which to go for? We recommend our pre-selected Regular, Green and Deluxe Top Picks.


Any other choices?

Our document folders can be printed in either oversized A4 (210 x 297mm) or oversized A5 (148 x 210mm) to allow space for your documents to fit inside comfortably. Choose one or two pockets with square, round or diagonal corners and from a range of different paper weights and finishes.

Wirebound books

How many paper options?

Our Wirebound books are available with four paper stocks; silk coated, gloss coated, regular uncoated and recycled uncoated. Unsure which to go for? We recommend our pre-selected Regular, Green and Deluxe Top Picks.

Roller Banners

Which sizes are available?

All of our Roller banners are 2000mm in height. You can choose from 850mm, 1500mm and 2000mm width. Your design is printed on a 255mic grey back banner material, supported by a resistant and lightweight aluminium base.


Carry case included?

All of our roller banners include a handy, durable and padded carry case.

Hanging banners

Which sizes are available?

You can order a Hanging banner to a specific size of your choice. Minimum banner size is 500mm x 500mm and maximum size is 2000mm x 20,000mm. Price is calculated on a square metre basis.


Can I print on both sides?

Our hanging banners are printed single sided only, on premium quality 440gsm PVC with a choice of adding reinforcing hems and eyelets for hanging. Our banners come with cable ties included for added convenience.

Personalised boxes

Which sizes are available?

Our Personalised boxes are available to hold A4 (218 x 305mm) or To hold A5 (156 x 218mm, with premium 40mm walls and lift-off lid.


Any other choices?

Our personalised boxes are available in five colours; white, ivory, pink, grey or black.

Selfie frames

Which sizes are available?

Our Selfie frames are available in 1000 x 636mm only.


Any other choices?

Our selfie frames are printed single sided, with a choice of very robust 10mm hard foam board, sustainably sourced environmentally sound 4mm board or 5mm soft foam board for short term use.
